About the Role

The Marketing & Business Development Officer is responsible for growing Ventro's brand presence, generating leads, and nurturing relationships that convert into new client engagements. You will own our digital marketing channels, develop content that positions Ventro as the go-to consulting firm in Zambia, and proactively pursue business development opportunities.

This role is flexible — part-time or full-time — and suits a creative, results-driven individual with strong commercial instincts and an understanding of the Zambian business landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute Ventro's digital marketing strategy across social media, email, and web
  • Create compelling content — posts, articles, case study summaries, and promotional materials
  • Manage Ventro's presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and other relevant platforms
  • Generate and qualify leads through outreach, networking, referrals, and digital campaigns
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients; coordinate introductory meetings
  • Develop proposals, capability presentations, and pitch materials for business development
  • Track marketing performance metrics and report on campaign effectiveness
  • Represent Ventro at business events, conferences, and networking forums in Lusaka
  • Support the development of partnerships with relevant business associations and networks
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing, business development, or sales (consulting or professional services experience is a plus)
  • Proven track record of generating leads and contributing to revenue growth
  • Strong copywriting and content creation skills — able to write for professional business audiences
  • Proficiency with social media management, email marketing tools, and basic analytics
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
  • Self-motivated, target-oriented, and comfortable working with minimal supervision
  • Understanding of the Zambian SME market and business community is highly advantageous
