About the Role
Ventro's IT & Digital Solutions Consultant bridges the gap between technology and business. You will advise clients on digital tools, systems, and website solutions that improve how their businesses operate — from selecting the right software to overseeing implementation and staff training.
This role suits someone with a technical background who also communicates clearly with non-technical business owners, and understands that technology should serve business goals — not the other way around.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess clients' current technology stack and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities
- Recommend and help implement business software (ERP, CRM, POS, accounting systems, etc.)
- Design and oversee the development of client websites and landing pages
- Advise on digital marketing tools, online presence, and e-commerce setup
- Develop IT policies, cybersecurity guidelines, and digital SOPs for client businesses
- Train client staff on new systems and digital workflows
- Manage vendor relationships and third-party service providers on behalf of clients
- Stay current on digital trends relevant to SMEs in Zambia and sub-Saharan Africa
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 2–4 years of experience in IT consulting, systems implementation, or digital project management
- Hands-on experience with business software (e.g. QuickBooks, Zoho, Odoo, Shopify, WordPress)
- Understanding of web design principles and ability to manage website projects
- Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Project management skills — ability to manage timelines, vendors, and deliverables
- Knowledge of basic networking, cloud tools, and cybersecurity practices is advantageous
